I never understood the whole Anti-Valentines Day movement. Sure, it's never great to be surrounded by couples in love and be reminded you're alone, but the thing is, even if you're single, you're probably not alone. Valentines Day isn't about singling out the singles(HA get it?), it's about celebrating love - letting the people in our lives know that we love them and care about them! And getting a ridiculous sugar high as you snack on all the festive treats while watching a marathon on romantic comedies. Some people have a different hate path and believe Valentines day is a stupid, made up holiday to make people either spend too much money, feel depressed and alone, or like they have met their soul mate. To those people, can I ask you something? Why you gotta hate? Everything is heart-shaped, pink and chocolate. It's basically second Christmas. If you hate Valentines day simply just to hate it, I think you should curl up with someone(your significant other, mom, dog, yourself), and grab some pink foil wrapped caramel hearts, watch some rom coms, and make some Valentines to let others know you care about em.
Ever see that title on Netflix called "Mind of a Chef"? Anthony Bourdain narrates, it has a weird food brain cartoon as the cover? Well I chose to go to his Toronto location of Momofuku, a ramen restaurant, located in the Shangrila Hotel for dinner. Why can't Anthony Bourdain, David Chang and I have our own TV show? One day... This was on the Saturday after my actual birthday so that I could have guests. On my actual birthday I went to Granos for lunch with my mom and to snag some of that Tiramisu for my little celebration at home.
I made homemade french macarons for the first time ever and they worked! I filled some with a raspberry cream cheese filling and others with the homemade paleo nutella I made a couple weeks ago.
